1课时teaching stepsstep 1.organizing the teaching1.greetings2.sing the English song “oh, christmas tree”.step 2. revision:1.play “spell it” to review any vocabulary in this unit.step 3.key concepts: www.xkb1.com1.introduce: the ss have seen the word “special” several times in this unit. ask them to find the word in lesson 25 and lesson27.what do the ss think it means? 2.student book:explain that this story is the traditional story of christmas. everyone who speaks English knows the story, but not everyone believes it’s true. for many people christmas is a time to enjoy friends and family. they celebtate christmas, but don’t all believe in god. thhis story contains a lot of new words that the ss will not understand .but they will be able to guess the meaning of the story. help them understand the main idea. the main idea is that jesus was born on christmas day and three wise men brought him gifts. that’s why people celebrate christmas and give gifts on christmas.3.practice: 新课标第一网a. teach the “rocking carol” in no.2 of the student book. this is a traditional christmas carol.b. divide the class into small groups. each student draws a picture of something special they can name in English and that they would like to give us a gift.
